~ Providence Presbyterian Church, Gum Springs, VA. (This church was built in 1747 and has two entrances. One door on the side where the land owners and upper class entered, and another in the rear where slaves could enter and go directly upstairs to sit in the balcony. Founder Samuel Davies taught slaves to read and missioned to natives.)
